If you want to use a store-bought dough then skip this step. But if you don’t have one on hand or prefer to make your own this is an EXTREMELY easy pizza dough to make with just a few ingredients from your pantry. There’s even a shortcut to cut the time the dough takes to rise in half!
Pizza Dough Ingredients
- 1 tsp. Active Dry Yeast
- 3/4 Cup Warm Water
- 21/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 3/4 tsp. Sea Salt
- 3 Tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
How To Make Homemade Pizza Dough
To start, add warm water to a small bowl and combine dry active yeast. The water needs to be warm to the touch but not too hot. Gently stir the yeast into the water and set it aside for 10 minutes.
In the bowl of an electric mixer add the flour and sea salt. Using the paddle attachment begin mixing the ingredients on low. Slowly pour in the EVOO and mix for 30 seconds. Next, pour in the water and yeast mixture continuing to mix on low until the ingredients have combined into a dough ball.
Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl lightly oiled with EVOO and cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap for 60 minutes or until the dough has doubled in size.
To speed up the proofing process by 30 minutes, grease the bottom of the Instant Pot’s inner pot with EVOO and place the dough inside. Cover with a glass lid and select the yogurt function on the Instant Pot. Allow the dough to rise for 30 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
Pizza dough can be made up to 4 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator or frozen in a freezer bag for up to 4 months. To use frozen dough allow it to thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
Quick & Simple Pizza Sauce
For a simple and quick homemade pizza sauce heat on low, a pint jar or 15 oz can of tomato sauce on the stovetop. Add 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, granulated garlic, and onion powder to the sauce as well as 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt and black pepper. If using store-bought tomato sauce you may also need a pinch of sugar to cut the acidity of the tomato sauce, which is optional. Stir to combine the sauce and the spices and simmer on low for 10-15 minutes or longer if time permits.
How To Assemble Pizza Rolls
On a lightly floured surface roll out the dough into a rectangular shape.
Spread some of the pizza sauce with a spoon all over the dough leaving a 1-inch border around the edge.
Spread out the mozzarella cheese over the sauce and sprinkle on the parmesan cheese.
Top with the mini pepperoni spread out evenly on top of the cheese.
To roll up the dough, start on the long side of the rectangle and roll up tightly. Pinch the ends of the roll together once the log is formed.
Transfer the roll to a parchment-lined baking sheet and place it in the freezer for 30-40 minutes to firm up. This will allow for the roll to easily be cut into pieces.
Bake or Air Fry Pizza Rolls
Pre Heat oven to 425° or Air Fry Range to 400°
Once the roll has chilled slice it evenly into 1-inch pieces.
Place the pizza rolls on a baking sheet spaced evenly, you may need more than one baking sheet.
Place the pizza rolls in the oven on the center rack and bake for 15-18 minutes or Air Fry in the Frigidaire Air Fry Range for 13-15 minutes.
Serve with the remaining pizza sauce on the side and pair it with salad for a dinner the whole family will love.

How To Freeze Homemade Pizza Rolls
Once you have the pizza rolls sliced into one-inch pieces place them back on the baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the freezer and allow the pizza rolls to freeze completely for about 3-4 hours. Once the pizza rolls are frozen remove them from the baking sheet and place them in a dated and labeled freezer bag. Frozen pizza rolls will keep for up to 2 months in a freezer bag. For longer freezer storage vacuumed seal pizza rolls for up to 4 months.

Preheat oven to 425° or Air Fry to 400° Place frozen pizza rolls on a large baking sheet leaving about 2 inches between them. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
